It'd be nice to play well for two halves, but really who cares. The result was the biggest thing tonight.

Poor second half, although apart form a couple of efforts at the end we never looked troubled.

Midfield General

Too many long balls all night really if I'm being overly critical, second half was gash (sorry Gash could nae resist wee man) but overall we'll take that.

Hit them quickly and then just contained. Didn't make for great viewing but a good result.

Thought we were ok throughout. Took it a bit too easy in the second half but the game was already won and we were never troubled. Decent game. Made up with the result. Onwards and upwards!

Backs against the wall second half when it needn't have been.

Heitinga was ace

Overall a really good result and one we really needed, we are now 9th in the table.

1st half, I thought we were really good, there was real desire shown by the players and they were not afraid of the ball. Sunderland hardly did anything until that Kenwyne Jones effort at the end of the half.

2nd half was fine until the 65th minute when for some reason we started becoming really sloppy and giving the ball away for fun and invited Sunderland into our half. We were lucky that Sunderland are in such poor form and are low on confidence because otherwise the score would not have stayed 2-0.

Anyway, its good to see more players returning from injury and our bench for once was not filled with inexperienced youngsters. Good to see Donovan scoring for us and good to see Arteta getting slowly back into things after nearly a year out. We just need to work on our consistency and realise that football is a game that lasts 90 minutes - not 65 minutes.

Endless, Nameless

I wanted Villa to lose :(

Yeah and I wanted Arsenal to keep up the pressure on the top.

Still, not bad though.
Oh well, at least Baines is still ace.

We started well, great result, but we did make it hard for ourselves at the end.
