Never heard of him or seen him play!?

Everton hoping to beat Bayern Munich to signing of Japanese ace Usami

Everton are locked in a battle with Bayern Munich as they look to complete the signing of Japenese teenage sensation Takashi Usami.

Usami, just 19, is one of the hottest properties in the J-League and has been earning rave reviews for Gamba Osaka.

Everton boss David Motes is keen to bolster his forward line and has been impressed with the performances of the talented attacker.

But he faces stiff competition from Bayern Munich as reports in Germany suggest that a deal has already been finalised for him to join them in July.

Moyes will have to act fast if he wants to bring Usami to Goodison Park and is hoping that a 2.5m offer will be enough to clinch his signature

An exciting prospect and I know you can never have too many but we do have loads of youngsters allegedly ready to break through, unless he is good enough for the first team already which he may be if Bayern are interested. (Waits to see what Sensei knows of him)

Thanks for posting the youtube clip norwegiantoffee. I know you cant judge a player on a small bit of footage but he seems to have excellent close control, dribbling, pace and technique albeit being up against not the best defenders in the world.

Agree with you. The recent performances of japanese players such as Honda and Kagawa has raised the profile of japanese football, and it seem like more managers are looking to Japan now.

I dont think we have much of a chance but he is likely to get more chance in the first team for us than Bayern mate. They have schweinstiger, kroos, ribery and robben in midfield. I believe he also turned them down for trial back in january of this year
