I think he'd probably ease him in and we wouldn't see him for a few weeks but he'd start in the League Cup match if everyone was fit.

But if Arteta can't play then he may well be thrown a start in the first game considering how limited our midfield options are at the moment.

We moan a lot about Anichebe, but he's putting himself about a bit. He was the last defender then!

Anichebe has been doing a lot better on that score this pre-season. Hope it continues :) as he'll win over a lot more people if he can keep that level of effort up.

It's been an interesting game so far, pretty good display. A few issues in defence still as well as linking the midfield with Beckford but overall pretty good display and good to see Barkley looking like the missing link in midfield.
