He'll start the same team as he did against Norwich, maybe swap Gueye and Drenthe

Doubtful. If Rodwell is fit he'll come in for Neville, and hopefully anyone in for Cahill.

the optimist in me says that Moyes learned from that last abysmal performance that the Cahill-Saha strikeforce doesn't work

the realist in me says that Moyes never learns

Moyes said Rodwell felt his hamstring during the pre-match warm up yesterday, so he's a mjor doubt.

I'd expect to see Drenthe come in for Gueye. Other than that I can't see many changes. I'd like Vellios or Stracqualursi to start alongside Saha but I think Cahill will be given another 55-60 minute run out.

I'll go for a 2-1 win to us. Baines and Drenthe for us, Graham for them

If Rodwell cant play maybe cahill should play CM instead of neville, maybe he needs a change of role to find some form and bring in Straq for neville

Im preety sure moyes will see that he has to change something up top. I think we'll play:

Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Heitinga Baines
Drenthe Rodwell Fellaini Bily
Osman
Saha

Id like to play:
Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Distin Baines
Drenthe Rodwell Fellaini Osman
Vellios/Straq Saha

If Rodwell is fit then it will be this I reckon. It's quite well balanced really; the only problem is that all of our forward options seem to be better suited as subs at present. The fact that Denis is deemed worthy of a go simply because he won some headers really sums up the poor form of everyone involved so far this season.

Cahill could stay in the XI, but I think getting taken off after 60 mins when we are losing is a string sign that Moyes thinks we need something different. Up until the past year, if we were losing, there is no way Cahill would have been subbed.

He needs a rest, for himself as much as the team. It's sad to see someone who has given so much to the team over the years, struggling like this at present. A few "easier" appearances as a sub should help build his confidence again.

Don't see Rodwell being fit. I too would go for Cahill playing CM tbh. Needs a change. Would offer extra attacking threat from a deeper position and the pressure would be taken away from him. The opposition would not be watching him as closely and above all he's a better option than Neville in CM.

             Howard
Neville jags heitinga Baines
           Fellani Cahill
Drenthe   Osman   Guaye
                Saha

Maybe one of jags or heitinga could be rested for this one with Distin coming in. Busy Xmas period and all. Barkley played in reserves so won't see him again I doubt. (shame) am I missing something that he's not getting time off the bench?

Amazes me that so many are having a pop at Cahill and most are saying nothing about Saha. His goal record is more or less as bad as Cahill's but at least Cahill puts a shift in.
