Dont you all think this is all a bit unlikely? 5.5mill for a new signing and they missed something this serious.

The worst thing that could happen if it is Gilmore's Groin, is if the original tear spreads up towards the abdominals or down the inner thigh towards the knee; a bit like a Chelsea Smile! I'm sure with constant treatment from a team of physio's he will be fine though.

Depends though. It sounds like something that comes and goes. If it was dormant when the medical was done, then it wouldn't show, although you would think it would already be on his medical records, unless he hasn't had a flare up whilst playing before, which would be just our luck.

Ive had this injury its a right pain. I got told keyhole surgery was the best option, as I couldent run or kick a ball without being in an awful lot of pain.

Took about 2 months out before playing again. Dunno about him but mine keeps enflaming every now and again, so I should think surgery is the best option.

At the Everton Two shop signing last week Jelavic said he'd be back for QPR, no reason to think otherwise!

TBH as long as we have signed a decent striker, which is what I believe we have done,he can have an injury, its not career threatening or anything like that and besides Stracq's doing just fine,so let him have his full rehabilitation and returning when he's ready.

" NIKICA JELAVIC has set his sights on becoming a Merseyside derby hero – having already been made welcome by the Everton FC family.

Jelavic, who is currently sidelined with a stomach injury, is settling in after his £5.5million move from Rangers last month.

The Croatia international scored 36 goals in 55 games at Ibrox, and is keen to open his Goodison Park account.

“I’m ready to score against anybody, but especially against Liverpool!” said Jelavic.

“I know how big those games are for the fans so I will try everything to score when we play them.

“I’ve not set any targets but, of course, as a striker I expect many goals.

“I think team spirit is everything, whichever team you’re playing for. But here I’ve noticed it especially. I really looks like a family and everyone is looking out for each other.”
..........................

If the rumours that the derby is to be played on March 20/21st are true then he expects to be fit enough to play by then definitely . I'd say Si's source is looking good .
