We had a very slender hope of challenging for the 4th spot and I think you have to say that slither of a chance has gone today.

We aren't out of the race for Europe yet though, but if we get few points from these big games coming up its hard to see us being anywhere but solidly mid table.

I very much hope Fellaini will return before Sporting though as Europa looks like being our season at the moment. Mind you I can't say at the moment I'm all that optimistic getting very far in the Europa. Our form this season has on balance (and demonstrated by the league table) been average, and I can't see an average team lifting the Europa League trophy.

We will finish 8th. 7th at a push.

7th I think. Unfortunately, with Villa getting to the final of the Carling cup, that might not mean Europe.
Oh well, at least Baines is still ace.

I would say 7th too.  Would love Europe but can't see it.

Honestly I was thinking 5th before this game, but now I'm not. And not in some kind of pissed off, depressive way, but:

1.) We will be without Pienaar for the Chelsea game
2.) Felli is injured
3.) The unbeaten run is over
4.) The effort was not there
5.) Moyes' tactics were awful, and I'm afraid that will continue.
Oh well, at least Baines is still ace.

Is Pienaar suspended for this or the next game then?

I am optimistically hoping for 7th, but realistically looking at 8th or 9th.  I think Europe is out of the question unless we win the Europa League.
Are we there yet?

Big gap between ourselves and the top 7 right now.

Yes, we have no hope of anything above 7th, I don't think.  As has been said though; given our start this season has been a bit of a write off.

That's what makes our FA Cup exit all the more disappointing.
There's nobody better than Murf667, she's the best little Evertonian I know!
As for you, Murf 668, your Everton shirt can hardly wait.

If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards.  Checkmate!

I spat my sandwich when I read that.

8th at best I'm afraid to say.
