NOTW filling the story in heavily, but sounds like the lad is available...

MANUEL FERNANDES wants a third loan spell at Everton.

The Valencia midfielder is frustrated with a lack of action at the Mestalla and is desperate to play for Portugal in next summer's World Cup finals.

Now free from injury, he was annoyed with coach Unai Emery's decision to bring him on as a substitute in the 91st minute of the weekend draw at Deportivo La Coruna.

It only increased his exasperation with life at the Spanish club and he has instructed his agents to explore the possibility of a loan move during January's transfer window.

The representatives have maintained contact with Everton, sparking speculation that the 23-year-old could be set for another stint on Merseyside.

David Moyes is keen to make more loan additions to his squad to go alongside Landon Donovan but it remains to be seen whether he wants to rescue Fernandes and sign him for a third time, after previous moves to snap him up permanently collapsed.

If Everton do not make a move for the former Benfica ace, other Premier League clubs could take the opportunity to take him on loan.

pass me a rope

So you can lasso him and drag him back to Goodison?
There's nobody better than Murf667, she's the best little Evertonian I know!
As for you, Murf 668, your Everton shirt can hardly wait.

If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards.  Checkmate!

Well he has the incentive of a world cup place this time around so theres no excuses for only getting up for the big game (arsenal+manure last time round).

He wasn't fit though. We've all seen the quality of a fully fit Fernandes.

And no, the rope was for something else....

The lad is an enigma. I can't decide whether he's actually any good or not. I know he has talent and I know he is a good footballer, but he's never really set the world alight anywhere, save a few flashes of brilliance. I think he's a luxury player, but if we can get him on loan, then that would be ideal.

Other than his first game vs. Chelsea, and a few late flashes, yes, he was crap. Lousy workrate, not fit and pressed too hard with too many passes. People have very selective memories when it comes to Manny. Even his first spell here had a lot more "meh" than "wow."

That said, it would be good to get him again in January. He's versatile and could be plugged into one of our many holes.

asphyxiation?

I would love him to come back, he has ability, a reason to deliver and a swagger that makes you think "you cheeky skillful bastard".

But that's just it though, hasn't he broke a leg since?
