I'm still optimistic about the season, but fuck, ties are boring.

I have a stylish mauve number that would strongly disagree with that sentiment, I also suspect that Brownie has a bugs bunny one.

For me that's a bloody good point considering we sat back second half and invited them on.

This Everton side is not a top 3 side, I don't think it's a top 4 side. We'd be lucky to be in touching distance of 4th come the season's end.

I beg to differ ... we haven't faced a team this season who I would consider to be better than us, we've had our share of bad luck and drew games we should have walked away with but there isn't a team in this division whom I'm not confident we should beat. I haven't had that much confidence in us for 25 years

yup, we're drawing with the champions during our low ebb, when the going gets good we're going to rack up some serious points

Got to say mate I thought our performance today was fairly impressive. The defence actually did their job for once amongst some quality free flowing football. City had their moments, but, we definitely have it in the locker to play much better than today. We are definitely not getting the rub of the green, but that turns up eventually. Personally I think we've still got chances. I reckon the next couple of games will show us more as to ,where we are as a team.

Bearing in mind it's Spurs next week and Chelsea before the end of the month with West Ham somewhere in the middle, if we are still three points off top 4 come Jan, I reckon we should fancy our chances. Especially if Benitez   hasn't been sacked by then.

We started off well again, till the final third, so in that regard our goal came out of the blue, although not totally undeserving.
They applied more pressure in the second half, and luckily we didn't let in any late goals this time.

Another point, but at least it didn't feel like two dropped this time.

With Gibson back, and playing well, we look to have our shape again.
They didn't play us off the park, this is encouraging.

........I think our football is worthy of top4 and I believe we will finish 4th or 5th. Chelsea and Arsenal are poor ,West Brom will fade away so i think it's between us and Tottenham. But for a stupid penalty we would probably have won today.
We are special ,we are Everton.

I think we were always going to focus on defence second half, then look to pick them off as it got stretched.

But the problem in the second half was that we conceded possession a bit too easily and as the game went on, when the opportunities came, so did tired passes when we got in good positions.

Mancini was saying about us defending with 10 players, but then said we are the best team when we defend. It wasn't a large part of his interview and I think it's more intended as a dig, but it's quite an interesting thing to say.

Didn't we have like 60% possession first half.

Chelsea are woeful at the moment, lets hope Benitez is still juggling. Even though Spurs have improved their form I don't fear them anymore. We are West Hams bogey team, but I think that is going to be a tough one too. We are starting to work our way through the top teams. Three played 5 points, two to go. The only thing letting us down are results against the lower rated teams. And no one has mentioned how much space Gibson will give to Mirallas. Once they both recover properly and hit their stride, I think they will link really well. Plenty of positives from today, and I have to admit my waning optimism is starting to return.

I do like that as a fanbase we are unhappy with a draw at the defending champions. Goes to show how much we have improved this season. I think some of the frustration does come from the fact that we have had so many draws recently.
Are we there yet?

What we sorely miss is pace. none of our midfield or strike force have any.

If Ram is optimistic then that should mean something to all of us
