So, what kind of team are people expecting to see here? I think an all but full strength team would guarantee progression, but if possible rest Pienaar, and give Barkley a go.
Also think Victor should start over Naismith, and start Jelavic so hopefully he can score a few and get some confidence back in his game. Don't think there's any point in resting Fellaini, he's just had 3 games off so he doesn't need it surely.

. 2-0 Everton.

We made 6 changes for the team against Leeds and that didn't go too well. That said this is Cheltenham. The "B" team should spank them

Strong as possible for this. It only spurs these smaller teams on when PL teams send out weaker sides still expecting to win. I wouldn't start with Gueye as said previously, maybe bring him on if winning comfortably. Not sure on Duffy as I haven't seen him play yet so can't comment.

4-0 Everton

i would chuck out a weakened team rest some players for the league, I wouldn't risk Anichebe because with his injury record he cannot be risked

The only ones I'd expect to be in the starting lineup are Fellaini, Mucha, Oviedo, Anichebe and one of Heitinga or Jagielka (if not both). The other 5/6 places are up for grabs.

I'd start Oviedo in for Pienaar playing in front of Baines, then at half time take Baines off bring on Pienaar and drop Oviedo in to left back. Give them a half each rest and a chance to see Oviedo in both positions. Also Jelavic needs to sit this out and Anichebe up front along side Fellaini. Bully them into wrapping it up at half time and control it second half.

it shouldn't matter who plays, but history suggests that it does.

Agreed. But if I were manager I would pick because I think this team is enough to beat them:

Mucha

Neville Duffy Heitinga Oviedo
Hitz Osman
Naismith Barkley Gueye
Vellios
