Which financially rich clubs can afford to do.

One of my pet hates of the modern game.

Indeed, I think it's what we have done with Stones to a lesser extent.

Yes it probably is.

You don't notice it with younger players as much. But the gravitating of smaller teams' best players to the benches, or worse, of the big clubs must dilute the quality levels of the majority of teams.

Ultimately leading to only a few teams who can challenge for the title.

City being the absolute worst culprits for destroying the teams below them.

They have been bad.

But then at Utd someone like Smalling gets some games but hardly loads - should he not be playing every week somewhere?

Yes he should, the problem is likely the over inflated wages he is on because of where he is as well which only compounds the issue, he probably won't push for a move.

Even if he did they'd just sign someone from another team.

*shakes head in rueful manner*

Four wide players is hardly too many. Especially considering Delofeu is practically free (we pay no fee for Barca for the loan).

Plus we don't know what role Pienaar might have.

Might be someone we go back to right at the end of the window if we still need that type of player and they're not going to use him and haven't been able to sell him.

Why do you think they want rid GL after just one season?

I'm not totally impressed by Moses TBH, seems to fluff his lines more often than not from what I've seen. But could be decent for us at the right price.

Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Schurrle would be my guess why they might not need him!

So they're consistent then.

Haha, I think they're just his tweets with Sky Italy in them.

However, this is just the same as a journalist here saying we've contacted Spurs re Defoe, for example, according to Sky Sports News.

So I wouldn't be reading too much into this.

Two questions.

What is a neo coach?

And since when has Jelavic been a bomber formation?

I know you're probably joking but in answer to your questions:

Neo will mean new in this case.

And the main striker is often called a "bomber" in Italian football.

Gareth Barry apparently coming on loan, Fourth Official just retweeted a link from a betting page saying his odds have fallen from 40/1 to 1/3 as well.

*Gulp*

He's actually not as bad as some people like to make out but it's not very exciting; practical mind.

33 in february, at first I thought absolutely not but now i'm not so sure. If he was just a replacement in the squad for Hitzelsberger then i'm all for it, especially on loan.

We do need an actual defensive midfielder

Gareth Barry would be a great addition. Probably mark the end of Gibson's starting days I imagine.

Not too sure about that but since Gibbo struggles to stay fit any cover/competition makes sense.

Well, I don't see why Barry would come to Everton on loan without any assurances, it wouldn't make sense on his, or Manchester City's part.

I'd imagine the assurances would be that he's in consideration - as opposed to him being out of contention completely at City.

except being comfortably one of the best midfielders in the league. our top goalscorer. our top passer. our top interceptor. our top tackler.

shit that felly-eye-ee-knee lad.

Think he meant that he'd not done much at Liege to warrant a 15m fee.

yes, that's his transfer plan

He's doing it as he's scared we're going to take Utd's place in the CL spots.
