Bentley !! I'd forgotten all about him. Weren't we interested in him at one point? What a waste of five years.

He's been devastingly underwhelming at goodison and seems to have developed a belief he can run straight through solid objects.
(Sunderland fan's fume at possible signing of McGeady on loan)

Yup, I remember him being touted as the next David Beckham.

I saw him against us at Blackburn when he was on loan from Arsenal around 05/06 time and he looked good. I think he was a classic case of someone who believed his own hype and thought he'd made it before he had.

Here is what I would take seeing how we are low on...well everything...

GK: Turnbull - Would be a decent back-up if wages weren't too high (likely looking for first team football though)
Def: Lichaj from Villa - Young and shows promise to play either LB or RB. Could easily be a squad player to give depth to either position as we have two entrenched starters now. Wages would not be bad.
MF: Arshavin - I still think he could come good (I know most don't) but then again I thought the same of Bilya. Wages would probably be too high so wouldn't be worth it in the long run. Good squad player though if people actually got behind him which never happend at Le'Arse.
F: Santa Cruz - On his best day he was better than we have. He would not be an every match starter but would give us some depth at F b/c we all know we need it. Did pretty good in the few games I saw him play for Málaga. Once again wages would be an issue as he isn't worth what he would probably want.

I could live with that. Don't know if Arshavin is heading back to Russia - if not I would love to see Roberto making him the player he once were
