I think what I'm most looking forward to is seeing more of all the younger players, not just Barkley.

I know some of the younger ones of that group will take a little longer but I imagine we'll see them a lot sooner than we may have done under Moyes.

I want to see Oviedo get some playing time myself but unless Bobby was to rest baines in early round cup games he's hardly going to get a chance is he?

This is a common comment.

I'm just wondering what people are basing it on?

Moyes' reluctance to give young players a fair chance

It's been covered/debated quite a lot over many threads.

That was proved to be rubbish many times also.

And I think we all agreed that it was bollocks.

Was it?

He played Phil Neville instead of giving Barkley a go many times. Also Duffy wasnt given a fair shot when he was in the team.

Nothing was proved.

Nothing was proved.

But from Martínez's point of view.

Does he play more young players than Moyes? Did he play youngsters a lot at Wigan?

Only the ones who were good enough.

Neville and Barkley play different positions. Barkley was given his chance on loan instead, which served him far better than having to play out of position in front of a hostile crowd.

Duffy has shown nothing that would suggest he was any better than Heitinga and he's obviously not better than either Jags or Distin.

Next.

Like any sane manager would do.

That's what I'd go with.

I'm just thinking that quite a few people are expecting loads of youngsters to be playing when RM's record suggests that only the ones who clearly stand out will play.

That's no different to how it's been with Moyes.
