Mayor Farnum

Hughes lost any chance he may have had of ever becoming Everton manager with his behaviour and comments during the Lescott transfer.

Remember Hughes thinking he was the 'big I am' and leaving Fulham as a "young and ambitious manager" only to realise no one big wanted him and ending up at fucking QPR.  :snigger:

Haha, yeah that's right, it was the Chelsea job that was vacant at the time.

Thing is, he finished 9th three times in a row with Stoke. I'm not sure they're going to do any better than that. Maybe 7th or 8th is achievable in an outstanding season, but it's very difficult to go anywhere but backwards from 9th with Stoke. And then when that inevitable happens, the manager loses his job. Not a fan of his, but have some sympathy with him losing his job on this occasion, and wondering exactly what Stoke fans expect.
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.

..............Flores ,once of Watford ,now at Espanyol ,may be taking over . Bit of a jolt moving from Barcelona to Stoke like.

edit - Flores said no ,now MON has turned down Stoke according to Telegraph.

That's a sad state of affairs when MON is rejecting you.... maybe they'll tempt Koeman off the golf course after all

Why is this funny?

No management credentials, no charisma, and never turned up as a player. Apart from that, a great choice. I guess there wasn't much else out there though.

Never turned up as a player? Hmmm... nope, you're wrong.

No manager experience? Never an issue for Hughes or Speed. International football is far from the pinnacle it used to be. I'd argue it's the perfect place for an up and coming manner to prove himself.

Can't argue with the charisma shout. But I don't really care, can't see it affecting him.

It could go either way. There's nothing that points it toward being "awful".
