Shame we were so shit and couldn't keep hold of him, this worry always makes me think we can't keep Barkley and Stones.

we're much better than we were now though, and we have the ability to build a team around the likes of Stones and Barkley

we have Samuel Eto'o sat on the bench and Romelu Lukaku up front, we have Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka, Tim Howard and Seamus Coleman, Kevin Mirallas and Bryan Oviedo, James McCarthy and Gareth Barry

and of course, the one, the only, Arouna Kone.

Remember it well. Hibbert is the only survivor from that team which included such stars as Pembridge ,Linderoth and Richard Wright .....and Jeffers for the Arse.
We are special ,we are Everton.

I can still remember watching that goal on Tele. Fantastic goal that and to top it off, Wengers face is an absolute picture.  What might of been hey.

How many goals has he scored and how much silverware?

We were beyond shit back then, it was hard to watch those games I can only imagine what it was like to play in that team.
I knew that someday I was going to die, and I knew that before I died, two things would happen to me. That number one; I would regret my entire life, and number two; that I would want to live my life over again.

Had my Park End season ticket then, remember it like it was yesterday, second best game of my childhood that was. Just incredible. He almost scored an even better one a few mins later as well!!
I have to return some videotapes.

I remember I was in New York on holiday at that time and phoned my brother back home, I hadn't realised we were playing Arsenal that weekend and he told me that Everton had won and some 16 year old scored. When I returned home there was a bit of Rooneymania going on.

I'm sure the 300k a week, the League medals, FA Cup medals and the Champions League winners medal allow him to sleep soundly at night  lolol

Overrated and unbelievably overhyped as he obviously is, he's still won it all at domestic level. if he'd stayed with us, he'd have won the grand total of Tony Hibbert... Absolutely nothing bar a Radio City/Motor-range Man Of The Match award.

Selling Rooney saved the club. I hated him when he kissed the badge but ive forgiven and i really quite like him. I certainly believe he looks at his medals and wishes with all his heart he could of won them all with Everton.

Yes, but I suspect having Colleen next to him, reciting all the expensive crap she bought that day and her purchasing plans for the coming week probably keep Wayne awake at night anyway.
Everton forever.

Must have watched that replay 10,000 times yet still gives me goosebumps. It in many ways was a symbol of the turning of fortunes at the club.

Can't believe it was 12 years ago...
