To me, it seems like RM is setting us up to be more defensive-minded, and look for the counter-attack.  Solid gamble.

And hey, Stoke has THREE goals against a good side, so today is apparently one of those "anything could happen" days.

From Evertonfc.com

Roberto Martinez has made two changes from the team that started against Hull City for this evening’s clash at the Etihad Stadium.

Tony Hibbert and Samuel Eto’o both step up from the bench, replacing Leon Osman and Ross Barkley who are named as substitutes.

It means a likely change in defence, with Seamus Coleman possibly playing in a more attack-minded role on the right.

I would be very surprised if Coleman is playing right midfield and it's not 3-4-3.

Coleman right wing in a 4-2-3-1 is a distinct possibility.

I imagine we will switch up exact formation based on the flow of the game.  But I'd be surprised if we started in "attack" shape.

Coleman ahead of Hibbert could work... solid defender behind attacking defender..

Doesn't anyone else think it will be a basic 442?

                Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Distin Baines
Coleman Besic Barry Mirallas
            Lukaku Eto'o

It's definitely not Coleman on the right wing.

Well I hope it isn't Hibbert there instead!

Didn't we switch to 3 at the back against Hull after it went 1-1? And Martinez has beaten City with 3 at the back before. Be amazed if it isn't that.

Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.
