Rio Ferdinand's wife has passed away after a short battle with breast cancer, aged 34. Three kids as well. Poor family. Very sad.

The highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive. Everybody's out on the run tonight but there's no place left to hide. Together, Wendy, we can live with the sadness, I'll love you with all the madness in my soul.

Puts it all into perspective, horrible illness. Fair play to them for keeping it private and having their last few weeks and months privately without a media circus following them.

Devastating at any age, but at 34? That's so sad. Such a young age for their 3 children to lose their mum too.

I just read about this. Was quite shocked. 34 is no age. Poor kids. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man how to fish, the government will tell him to register his business license, pay income tax, pay payroll, pay for fishing permit.

Good career move - there isn't much upstairs to have snotted out so he's got nothing to lose!

Whats sad about this is, he will get loads of publicity be on Sky Sports, and he will be shit, utter shit.  Yet there are some boxers out there training their balls off, putting loads of effort in and have done all their lives, yet they won't ever get anywhere near coverage.
