Yep rehab for drug addiction and he was apparently dealing too. He's signed for Ossett Albion today. That's a monumental fuck up on his part in the space of 12 months.

He is a young lad who had too much money thrown at him with very little guidance. He is a teenager. He needed more from Everton.

i feel like the club has let a youngster down here. We are not a meat shop and George Green seems to have been treated as an asset and not a human being.

Massive assumptions there considering there hasn't been much publicised about what happened within the club.

I'd be very surprised if any club didn't have systems in place to give youngsters every bit of help and support possible if they had issues. Even more so if, as you say, they view him as an asset.

Many clubs don't though. So many fall into this trap. So many never fulfill their potential. And they only kids. Really just little kids, taken away from their community and suppor and pretty much expected to be adults with a brain that isn't fully developed or mature.

very sad really

Wasn't there a rumour that the chaperone the club asked to look after him was in it too? Or have I just made that up?

He may go on to become an excellent dealer so don't give up on him just yet.
