I would have been furious if that was not given to us.

Idiot, absolute fucking idiot.

Losing a bit of patience with stones and his knobhead behaviour.

Look good with Funes Mori and Jags. Honestly would start both of them over Stones at the moment.

Had Sterling already kicked the ball out of touch though ?

It would have been close. Still see that given 95% of the time regardless.

Let's not get carried away. Stones was great all night, and had a fantastic running battle with Sterling which he bossed (apart from the blatant pen).

I am not basing that opinion on a single match - Stones has been poor almost the entire season and Funes Mori has been playing very well for the last five or six matches and offers a real threat on set pieces. And I think Stones looked better at right back because he was less easily exposed today.

Played right-back at Barnsley didn't he?

Yeah, but only for the same reason that Galloway plays right back for us. Naturally a CB.

Cos he does all Barry leg work for him?

McCarthy does as well, but Besic seems to be doing a better job at it.

Barry is second in the most distance covered table for premier league players this season.

Yeah, it is incredible really. He may not run fast, but he never stops moving.

We lacked any pace on both wings after the sub. Given the fact we were playing on the break I thought it made us more unbalanced. Weird one for me. Plus Lennon will always put in the defensive legwork too.

Fair points these.

And Besic is conclusively better on the ball than McCarthy when we win it back to start the transition.

Yeah, I think with some more game time, Besic will start popping up with more goals and assists. You can see the ideas and intention are there, but that he is just a fraction off on occasion.
