He does look like he's got a bit about him, his movement is excellent as is his workrate.  Very positive about him now, after being dubious at first.

I think his workrate and link up play at Leeds may have been less due to complacency and boredom. He obviously wanted to move and perhaps stopped caring at a certain point. It may also be due to the better players around him though, which should improve his game.

Dare I say I smell optimism amongst the general readership here?  Sadly, I've a busy day at the office (not so busy as to stop me reading the forums) and thus can't watch the game.  I'm frankly quite excited about maintaining last year's squad and adding a few new young bodies, despite knowing little if anything about them.

First time I have seen him tonight - ever! Only read the doom and gloom merchants on here, have to say although oppo are not the best, Beckford and indeed all the new lads look more than capable.

Well I openly opposed the signing of him all last season after watching him a fair few times in League 1 and the FA Cup (twice in person) and not being very impressed with him. But from the little I've seen and read about him this pre-season I could very well be proved wrong. Maybe with Moyes guiding and his inevitable added hunger in the Premiership he could prove to be a superb buy.

If beckford keeps playing the way he is he could be nocking on capello door and he could even play against hungary after an awesome pre season :) :badum: nod

He looked pretty good tonight. Missed a few chances, but at least he's getting in to the positions to get the chances in the first place.

It still remains to be seen what he'll be like against top opposition, but so far so good. I'm not going to get carried away yet though.

Forget Hungary.  What odds would you give him on starting against Blackburn?
