I'll throw in a third suggestion here mate, which to me is blindly obvious, publicity stunt.

All he's succeeded in doing is making a kunt of himself though ... for a  " billionaire " investor hes a bit of a dick isn't he ?
Once Everton has touched you nothing will be the same"
Alan Ball

" Notoriously shy and laconic off the field, Dean's quotes are sparse. He is reputed to have said to an over-enthusiastic marker 'I'm going for a pee. You coming?' "

All publicity is good publicity really. It's served him and Liverpool well.

A Chinese Walter Mitty-type character who has no experience or visible funds to get anywhere near a Premier League club? No thanks.

As he's clearly got no money, no.

From his point of view though, everyone knows who he is.

I'd disagree that he looks stupid as the facts around the whole affair aren't 100% clear, plus it's no disgrace to not have the £1bn investment needed to properly take over the sh*te.

He will get business on the back of this I'm sure.
