After the injury crisis last year ?? I think it was more Moyes wanting as many players fit for the first kick of the Premier league rather than the money. I do totally agree though with the ops point, It really proved this year that winning against dross sides gives you a false sense of security   :(

To be honest pre-season is long enough to get a good balance of quality opposition vs 'ego boosting' games in.

Tours to Oz and US will get us money, but i'd rather we did one or the other and then had some decent opposition, so do Oz one year and US the next.

Surely a good league position to get a CL or Europa spot, tied in with a good cup run can generate us more money than at pre-season tour!
