Mayor Farnum

What is your attitude? Do you go regardless, decide on each ones merits or never go?

To me they are just another pre-season friendly so if I'm not working I will go. They used to do them Thursday/Friday evenings but the last few have been Saturday so I haven't been.
I'm fat, but it's not my fault I have a genetic condition resulting in me retaining burgers.

Our testimonials are generally a bit shit aren't they? Especially when we look at what United and Liverpool have dished out.

Carragher had a derby game for his, Rooney got a game against his boyhood club. Carrick is having a Man United circa 2008 vs stars match with a load of ex pros playing together again.

We tend to play against some shite middle of the road european team. Closest we've come to sparking a little bit of interest was Rooney popping up for 5 minutes in Ferguson's testimonial.

Hope Jags and Baines get much better than that

Bit antiquated the idea of a testimonial. Used to be all about raising money for the soon to be retired player. No longer necessary.

That said, I like the idea of recognising longevity in a player's career with a single club, but I wonder if there's a more effective alternative than the testimonial which, in general, serves up a poor spectacle for the fans.

Maybe instead of a testimonial, they get to have a crack on DCL's bird.
