Tottenham, Chelsea and Man United are teams being talked about.

For me, that shows a lot of people who don't rate the lad are in are in for a shock.

Do clubs even let players 'rot in the reserves?' Is this one of those footballing myths because I don't think I've ever seen this happen a part from on Football Manager.

Nah, the sensible alternative is just to say nothing. Literally 'there is nothing to say about Ross Barkley - next non-Ross Barkley question please'. Koeman, like other managers, has done that before plenty of times. Keep all private conversations private, and don't weaken your negotiation position.

"If an offer doesn't come that satisfies our valuation then he won't be sold"

Not difficult, is it?

It decreases our chances of getting a decent offer though. I don't think we will get an offer that will satisfy our valuation and so will leave for a pittance next summer.

Saying that he's going to be sold this summer no matter what is what decreases his worth.

You're kidding yourself if you think a Spurs/Chelsea target wouldn't be useful in our squad.

So these two clubs are looking to spend 30m on a player with 12 months on his contract left purely because he's English then?

A bit far fetched isn't it, they could just buy Ben Mee for 10m.

We are clearly more than capable of moving on without him but he had a good season last season and with more than Lukaku as a target then there's no reason to believe he can't improve on that.

It looks inevitable that he'll leave so we'll wait and see I guess.

There's a reason he's going to Swansea and it's the same reason Bojan and Shaqiri are both at Stoke.

They're not good enough.

To be fair he's only 20, I think he'll turn out to be a great player in a few years

Have you seen him?

If he's 20 then Sandro is 22.

But what about Sigurdsson? He went to Swansea

From Tottenham. They're hardly Bayern Munich standards.

It's a hell of a drop for Sanches because he's done zero to suggest he's anything more than potential whereas people are talking about the move like he's Marco Asensio.

One good thing about today is that we'll have an answer to what the fuck Barkley will be doing for at least the next few months.

Buzzing about this.

Reckon he'll sign a new contract and be boss for us.

Can tell which posters really wanted him to go lolol

Everyone gets too hung up with money. We wouldn't have brought another player in if he went and that's all that's important.

I think the news is more about how Chelsea have failed to attract any players rather than how one of our fringe players rejected them.

Kind of weird that they've failed to get some players that should be an easy pull for them.

Makes you wonder if there's more than meets the eye.

Rate him highly but wouldn't be making much of a different for us right now.

We're missing a striker and we're missing pace.
