Blob on, but seeing the glass as half full, we arent that far away really.

Sandro is a very decent player, his main attributes are movement and being a pain in the arse all over the front line.
Rooney is a decent player still and his main (of many) attributes is footballing (at least) intelligence and coming deep for the ball and dictating an attack.

Put them together and there isnt a proper striker in the box very often.

Add a target man striker to them two and we have a deadly attack (Dzeko or a Giroud)

It's not all about pace, as quality, intelligence and movement add just as much if not more. But inject a little pace back in the side - the good old Baines and Coleman (hurry back!) combo - getting forward, with defensive mids dropping back. We have Gana, Schneids and others that can drop back, but width/pace needs to be addressed. Bolasie will be back soon too.

We need a little more creativity and a bit more knowhow from midfield, as we are often short of ideas and slow building up with far, far too many passes back to the defenders/keeper. To address this and improve our set piece threat and not to mention increase our goal tally we need someone that can come in now and do a job straight away (Sigurdsson).

Strengthen our ageing heart of defence and build-up play from the back, as Williams and Jags are getting on a bit now and will make more mistakes (Smalling)

Stek did ok last night, but play Pickford from now and stick with him.

End the Barkley and Sigurdsson dramas, and put a bit more investment into these areas, and I reckon we will surprise a few with our league position after our horrendous opening 6 fixtures! But do it soon, so we are a bit more gelled and fit and ready for it come the start, in 15 days!!!!

Agreed. That's the key word "fluid". That is when we are at our best, with players like Rooney, Sandro, Klassen buzzing around - fluid play. We are at our worst when we are dicking around, passing backwards and fucking around at the back, when you JUST KNOW that someone is going to make a blooper and other teams, like they do, always seem to punish us for it. Fluidity comes from talent and work-rate, the more established, talented hard working players we have the better imo. We dont need to look for one attribute, like pace, or size, but we need to look for players that have consistently shown ability and importantly the right attitude to working as a component in a team to work together and win a football game. Luckily its looking like we have a few players in this mould to play a decent style of football, but there are one or two that we need to replace - weak links in the chain so to speak. Koeman and the board know this, we just have to get behind them, and just hope they invest in one or two more class acts.

Even Man City can say no (See Sanchez)

Which is easy to do when you have half a dozen top notch players in that position, and knowing you will get 1 or 2 more soon after ;)

From what we've seen of Sandro so far, overall, I dont think many of us care too much what he does for the minimal amount we paid. Perhaps getting him off the wage books, and adding that money to Lookmans or hopefully Henry Onyekuru's* wages to secure them - as they seem hungry, and very talented, and probably more suited to a Silva team.

*whenever the fuck we can secure his contract on UK soil.

I think they meant whilst we have a squad of a million players. When we get down to a couple of dozen FIRST teamers, by trimming a dozen pieces of dead wood THEN THAT will be sustainable. 3 or 4 average players out = 1 or 2 good ones in. x 4 at least :)
