This cant be right.  Only signed for them in 2015 for 9mil euros and has done nothing. How would they now value him at 40mil

It's probably Mendes using us to create interest in his client.

Yeah this isn't happening.
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.

OLD NEWS?? BUT:Everton are being linked with a move for Benfica forward Raúl Jiménez.

The Mexico striker has scored 24 goals n 80 games for the Portuguese giants, and a newspaper Record report of a bid of around 25m euros for the player.

However Benfica are said to be holding out for twice that amount, with Everton desperate for a striker having missed out on Olivier Giroud, who is staying with Arsenal.

The price is inflated because a Chinese side were willing to pay that crazy amount in the last transfer window if I recall correctly, and Jiminez turned down the move.

I'd rather us pay 18m for Perez from arsenal than 45m on this fella, from the limited amount I've seen him play he isn't very good imo

A snippet from one of the sources

If Everton want Jimenez, they should sack their scouts.  But it seems far more likely this is just more silliness in yet another silly season.

Wayne Rooney is doing his best to prove his doubters wrong and Sandro Ramirez and Davy Klaassen will come good in time.  However Everton do need another quality centre forward if they want to push for a top-four spot, which is well within their grasp whatever they naysayers believe.

The answer is not and never will be Jimenez, but expect the rumours to persist until deadline day has finally passed.
