Simon Paul

Be gutted if he goes and McCarthy stays. Barry, if not a stater, is super solid and reliable to shore things up if we're defending a lead

Barry leaving sucks. Such a top professional and great asset to our club.
It makes no sense for us to let him go but I 100% respect that he wants to play games. I don't think we can offer that week in week out anymore.

I'll miss you Barry you handsome bastard.

This would be a silver lining.

But I'm still sulking.

Barry has so much to offer still, and I can't blame the man for wanting to play every week in the top-flight.

Dignity does not consist in possessing honours, but in deserving them

I thought he may end up back at Brighton where it all began for him. I think he comes from Hastings and I do remember a few years ago he was linked with putting some money into Sussex club Lewes FC, not sure it ever happened though. (he dodged a bullet there!)

Great player IMO, one to inspire.

Big call by Koeman to allow him to go but I can understand him wanting game time. Hope it does not bite us on the arse during the season.
Everton, ruining the transfer market since summer 2018

Fucking quality player, hope he goes on to beat the appearance record, well deserved.

Sad to see him go, absolute model pro. He'd run his course for us, but had hoped he'd go into the coaching team. Will enjoy watching him break the appearances record in a few weeks' time - get a fiver on him to be booked in the same game :)

Mad that I thought he was too old when he signed. Gutted he's gone.

Has he gone? Assumed this was just a daft rumour

Amazed koeman was happy to let him go. Hope we've done it as a thank you to him rather than because we had no use for him.

We'd have been fucked without him. Model pro. Reliable. Card collector. He will be missed.

When he signed I thought he was past it etc like everyone else and he was boss for the seasons we had him.

Glad that he's gone and it's been fairly quiet, just a simple transfer for a fella who wants to keep playing as long as he can.
