A one-minute applause will be held in the 11th minute of this evening’s Europa League playoff first leg against Hadjuk Split, to mark the tenth anniversary of Rhys Jones’ murder.
When the clock strikes 10:01, Blues will be encouraged to applaud and pay tribute to the young schoolboy who loved Everton.
Rhys was killed after being caught in the crossfire between two rival gangs on 22 August 2007.
Images of Rhys wearing his Everton shirt will appear on the big screens in the 11th minute – Rhys’ age when he was murdered.
Rhys’ family have given their blessing to the show of support from Evertonians with members of the family attending the game.
