Marky Mark and the funky

I'm getting really worried what effect this nonsense might have on our lad.

Wrongly accused of diving and booked at Sevilla (IMO combined with their penalty being a free-kick we could have won 3-1!).

Now he is even more clearly caught, but booked again, do refs not like that he throws himself down like all his peers?!

His post-match interview for Sevilla (on Everton TV) was the most subdued I'd seen yet, I hope the unfair diving bollocks doesn't get to him.

He's a teenager. You've seen Kevin the teenager? I'm sure Tom will grow out of thinking the whole World's against him as well. ;D

Works both ways with diving and play acting, knowing how to buy cheap fouls

It's part of the game these days and it's not going to change quickly

We need to do it wisely and realise that sometimes it will work to our advantage and sometimes it won't

I.e if we are playing against a side who has players who dive and we have a player on a yellow card, slide tackle is out of the question for that particular player!

Every single fan could see it coming a mile off

Of course in a game with your mates that's a superb tackle but it's just not allowed at this level any more if that tackle is attempted on someone who knows how to buy a foul
You think Lou Bega knocked it out of the park with Mambo number 1?!No but he kept at it!

if Davies is a diver, than rooney never shagged a granny.
The only real things in this reality are how perspective is perceived and eventual death...

& Unsworth kicking ass.

I hope he does ignore it

Changing tack slightly, does anyone actually think he dived for either of these bookings?

Never used to watch that mate, I've seen the movie though

Maybe there was nothing in it, I saw interviews with him before where he seemed just naturally comfortable, after Sevilla he just seemed timid.

Happy to be wrong on this folks nod

Just shows he's wise for his years. He got caught out this time but on numerous occasions he's bought cheap free kicks using the same methods. He's a bright boy, this'll be water off a duck's back with Rooney to guide him.

Yes
Last nights was a defo dive and I've only seen the sevilla one once and it looked a dive front that so I'm still not sure

He is not the only player to do it so to be singled out is harsh

Simply simply lovely

I'd say that he made the most of a little bit of contact. Mikel Arteta was a master at it.

The City player plants his foot in the ground as Davies is trying to run past. There was some definite knee/calf muscle collision.

The way I saw it was with Davies being in motion and the rival obstructing (Davies running movement) that is a foul?

Reminded me of all those time Andy Johnson got clipped and we never got anything because 'he could have stayed on his feet'.

Perhaps I am unwittingly now an advocate for diving, you've really got me thinking lolol

I will never accept that cheating, which is what diving is, should be tolerated as part of the game. Davies dived at the Etihad and the ref was correct. It was embarrassing as he was wearing an Everton shirt for all the world to see.. Their player also cheated to get Schneiderlin sent off, that is City's business. Both perpetrators should be ashamed. When someone dives playing against us, all hell breaks loose and abuse follows.  Some players, like Baines for example would not lower themselves to do it. Davies is immature and hopefully Koeman will set him straight.

Subtlety is the key. Davies made more of it than needed even if there was some level of contact so he needs to be less obvious. It's part of the modern game it seems where margins are fine. He's on a learning curve but he's not daft and he'll be fine. The futures bright. The futures Blue!!!

I almost feel ashamed now I've fallen into the (usually ex-some-other-team pundit) saying 'there was contact, ergo it must be a foul' trap.

Ah well, must have a soft spot for innocent-looking Davies

To me he left the ground and then dangled a leg out to ensure contact, in my eyes that is a dive. A Gerrard dive if you like
