Why are people still repeating the old song about 3 numbers 10s?
Klaassen is not and never was a number 10.

He played against Atalanta for us
You're right, he did. I have been trying to erase that evening from memory though.

So a must win for us, what do people think is the best result for us in the other tie in our group, to help us progress into the knock out stages ?

Must-win... but after the shocking start in the league I am not that bothered about the EL anymore.

League results are all that really matter to me now.

I wouldn't mind if we actually played Sigurdsson in his preferred position for once

What? We're more or less on par from with most people would have hoped from those first six fixtures. Granted performances haven't been great and the goal difference has taken a hammering but to say ditch the EL for the league because we've not played well is a bit silly.

Need to start without Rooney give the lads a chance to play without trying to put every ball through him .

Play Rooney in this and drop him for the weekend in preparation for phasing him out.

I was thinking the same thing.

He can play centre forward for these group stage games, and should be riding pine on the weekends.

He played in his preferred position against Atalanta and was atrocious to be fair.

@kramer0 what has our formation been in the last two games?

Where has Sigurdsson occupied?

Aside the six defensive(seven with keeper) players knowing which half the pitch they have to be in ....the rest havnt got a clue where to play imho. ...sure RK just throws the rest in the other half and hopes for the best .... then take Rooney off for Niasse to win ....but he's fucked that up for Europe .

About an inch away from Rooney's toe. Just behind Klaassan's heel.
