Baines & Jagielka didn't sign for another 3 years or so, think Pistone Weir Stubbs Hibbert was the back 4 for the majority of that season, making it even more remarkable
nope Baines and Jags both signed in 2007, the match i quoted was from 2007.
In July 2007, Baines rejected a move to Sunderland, after their bid of a reported £6 million was accepted by Wigan. In the following month he signed for Everton for an initial fee of £5 million, with another £1 million in add-ons, dependent on Baines's appearances for Everton. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leighton_Baines
Jagielka eventually signed for Everton on 4 July 2007, in a deal worth £4 million on a five-year contract, the highest amount ever paid for a Sheffield United player. He made his home debut at Goodison Park on 31 July 2007 as a second-half substitute in a pre-season friendly against Werder Bremen, replacing Joseph Yobo in central defence.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Jagielka
lol at them signing in 2010 lol. i recall them both not playing for the first 6 weeks of the season or so, even tho we got them in early. Moyes wanted to bring them in slowly.
