True. Pragmatically emotionless only really works when results are going your way. You're never going to build up a groundswell of good feeling to fall back on when things don't look so rosy.

They could have easily won the game at the end.

Who, Everton?  Sorry to disappoint you but Brighton did not win. You might have better luck against Arsenal.

So could we after that scramble.

Doesn't mean either team particularly deserved to win.

Bruno elbowing DCL in the face was an absolute gift to us. We had no chance of scoring without something like that happening.

We were lucky to draw IMO but Koeman has to say something.  I'm just glad it's nowhere near the Martinez world of "we were phenomenal/incredible" etc.

Missed the game on Sunday and have only seen the EFC 20 min highlights. An impartial view would say we seemed to play quite well. Presumably Koeman thought the same.

The impartial views I've read said it was an awful game between two poor sides.

One of the managers of those two poor sides is 15 months or so into a job having spent over 220m. The other did brilliantly to get his team promoted from the Championship.
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.

Goes to show what highlights can do then. I quite enjoyed it. DCL played well. Vlasic is a good buy., Sigurdsson looks like a ball of pent up frustration as he continues to struggle. That is a good sign because when the good player that he is emerges we will benefit. Nothing major will change until January when even this board will recognize they have to correct the major blunders  they made during the transfer window. Mid table by the end of the season and Koeman still in his seat for the 2018/19 transfer window.

It's like some Zen puzzler:
If you start arguing about whether your team deserved to win less or the opposition deserved to lose more, will anyone bother to join in?
Everton forever.
