It's odd we're the only team to take points off City this season, as we've been absolutely abysmal. I've gone for a win but broke ranks on whether Koeman should go or not. Last time I did that we tanked someone when Martinez was here. Let's hope for a repeat of that.

Much better commitment from the players today. It's a substantial improvement on the Burnley game. :)

He's done it a couple other times this season, parrying the ball back into danger. Definitely something that he needs to improve his technique on, can't think of many other areas though.

The first shot leading up to their goal took a deflection off Sigurdsson. I don't think Pickford can be blamed for that really.

He can. Top keepers have the technique  to react incredibly quickly to save shots and parry the ball away from danger. It's all in the wrists.

Quite.

A number of cards this ref has handed out to us and not to them are beyond belief.

No excuses for Ronald now. 5-2 at home is not acceptable. This is Everton football club. Bottom 3 minus 11 goal difference probably out of Europe. Whatever can be saved from the season now has to begin with Koemans P.45

Just made dinner. Lime and garlic roast chicken with stuffed peppers topped with 18 months aged cheddar and garlic bread. 1 1/2 hours to prepare and cook, 45 minutes eating, with Lord of the rings the Two Towers on the Tele to distract me, and then started to remember the game and the hammering we took. I can't be doing with the Koeman induced downers on a pleasant Sunday evening. Fuck me Ron; I thought you were the man for the job. shakeyheadman

I thought I was losing my mind. Glad someone else noticed.

I guess it's a testament to how confusing our backroom setup is. It doesn't seem like anybody knows who does what.

I think we are all in the same boat. I've no idea myself what the set up is, and I don't think anyone else outside of the management of the club has either. It's the first time our club has worked with a director of football. It follows for that reason that It's of greater concern on this occasion, exactly, because of this different setup. At least when a manager did all the planning and player recruitment requests to the board, it narrowed down the field who was responsible for what.

Still, given the results, you can understand the appeal for people at the club of a set up with no clear accountability.

It doesn't help us as supporters though. I've supported Everton since I was 6. That's 54 years. It would break my heart to see a load of guys in suits ruin something that's been a part of my life for so long. It's early days in the fear stakes. It needs addressing as soon as is possible though. This is why sacking Koeman or letting him carry on is so crucial.
