I voted Tuchel, but doubt he'd come here, if not Dyche safe pair of hands we are in a mess. I know we desperately need a proven number nine, but one massive miss this year has been Coleman, think he would improve our defence so much.

Letís hope this is more Sigurdsson than Witsel and Giroud.

Hope it doesn't take that long mate, but Silva is now my preferred choice, did originally vote for Tuchel, but that looks a non runner.

I posted this in the Simeone thread, but if true, you can maybe see why the board are not in a rush to appoint anyone and you can also see why we would be linked to Van Gaal. Get him in until the end of the season, and then let Simeone commence 'the project'.

The only downside to this being, we actually have to survive the fucking season.

Sorry mate I don't think I can believe Twitter over our survival in the premier league. Make no mistake we find it hard to create / score goals and we concede at will, I am genuinely worried over what the season has in store for us, because we haven't been unlucky in these games, we have been mostly battered and what worries me more is, where are the battles in the team ? Where are the leaders ? Goalscorer ? Coming round to the realisation that I'd take Dyche right now and gulp even thinking about Allardyce.

If it is true then im glad Royle is involved.

To be honest mate we could do with a young Joe Royle, you know the one who got us out of the last mess, right now, he resigned far too early last time in my eyes.

Surely it's more important to get the right manager.

When Wenger is sacked / resigns from Arsenal the chances are he will move upstairs, to be a DOF / President or just a director at Arsenal. Wrong type of manager and we are the wrong type of club for him at this present time. Said it before,  we should try and get Fonseca, whether he fucks us off or not at least try and get him. Right now to get rid of Sam I'd have Benitez, won't go down well on here I know.

he had a solid philosophy (attacking wise) but hopeless defensively. that first season of his, is the best i have ever seen us play.

hell somehow we  conceded more goals this season than in the last year of Martinez, scoring less than we did under Walter Smith...

Just goes to show then with those stats, how easy it is to finish eighth nowadays and how piss poor the bottom half of the league really is.

Like he did with Koeman and Walsh? ;)

To be fair most people thought they were decent additions at the time.

I had some concerns myself.

Koeman was at that time a big name manager, remember the beginning of last season, the big four northern teams, we had come best of the rest the previous season. Liverpool had Klopp, United Mourhino, City Guirdiola and us Koeman, it was mentioned in the media pre season. We also had the super scout of Leicester's  premiership winning team, the one who found Kante, Mahrez and Vardy. Don't know about you they in my eyes were the dream team, that was then.

Not saying it would be a bad appointment but I'm surprised Silva is such a strong favourite

Possibly because you get the feeling that Silva is the clubs only choice.
