Unsy has a thankless job on his hands.  It's pretty clear that precious few of the veterans (Lennon, maybe Jags and Bainesy) give him any respect whatsoever, plus he is having what little authority he has publicly undermined.  He has to walk a fine line between putting out a legitimate, first-division XI and standing up for himself and maintaining some iota of order and discipline.

I think he's doing as well as can be reasonably expected under the circumstances.

What I mean about going in the right direction is, we're fighting for possession. Teams were walking it in, not so long ago. :)

Oh I see. Maybe. The energy you see from Davies and Niasse (mainly) I think is misleading. It's pseudo-pressing which is not sustainable. Everyone has to do it and understand it. It's bloody difficult when

1. The team changes
2. The defence drops so deep
3. We can't keep possession when we do get the ball

I think the concern is that we're pushing on to almost halfway through the season and there are few signs of it improving.

It won't improve properly til we get a manager in with specific ideas who can drill the players day after day.

Unsworth's just fire fighting in a very difficult situation, and somehow we've blagged 4 points from the last two games based on enthusiasm and not much else.

None of these players are going to look good until we get a shape and a way of playing that is robust and repeatable.

That's 4 vital points in the last two games. If nothing else, Unsworth's got us something out of his temporary stint.

A few seem to have an attitude problem which won't be helping dressing room morale either. Shipping the under-performers out the door in January to get fresh blood in might be a necessary way to move forwards.

I missed the first half and can only comment on the effort second half. Despite us not looking too organized, we still got something out of the game. But you're right, it's not good enough scraping a draw against the bottom club. :)

Aye, if that has to happen, so be it. There's a few who don't seem to fancy it.

Clearly steps across him and it's soft as can be, but there's clear contact and attempt to unbalance.

Ref had ideal position to see Dann's movement and that's what he was watching. If he was watching Niasse, he'd have seen it was quite soft.

That sounds nice in theory but it's not that straightforward. It's not like Unsy, or Koeman before him, have no specific ideas that they are trying to implement, that they think will work to win football games, and that they are working on in training. Of course they are, that's why they get paid a shit load of money.

Our problems to me seem to run deeper than figuring out the right formation and game plan and I'm struggling to be honest to know exactly what it is that needs fixing.

Stevie G never dived, he 'forced the foul'

Sorry. I spelt Ashley Yound wrong.
