Guess it must be one of those clique jokes that mean nothing to us outsiders.

Richard Keys is a notoriously hairy man. It's nothing more complicated than that.

Have to say I think Silva is wrong here. He thinks Sam is judging him, but it's really about his suitability for the position.

It just seems a bit of an oversensitive thing to say. Not too fussed we didn't get him based on these comments.

Nah, Sam was judging him and was massively on the defensive, referencing Silva's relegation with Hull for no reason at all. He does have a massive chip on his shoulder about the way he's perceived (the 'Allerdici' thing), rightly or wrongly.

You don't think a relegation on your CV is relevant when appointing someone to escape relegation? I seem to recall quite a few people on this very forum worried about his Hull relegation, so it's not just Sam.

No but it was the way Sam said it. Like he was waiting to set the record straight about not being appreciated like sexy, younger, European managers. He'd have been better not rising to the bait, but he can't resist.

But he's done nothing in a proper league. Just like Silva.

Keeping Watford above relegation is a good achievement.

We don't need stabilising. Stabilising is going massively backwards.

Also having vast swathes of the club's fanbase despising the hoofball that we play does nothing to stabilise anything. It's massively destabilising and divisive.

And what stellar name would you have got in to turn around a potential relegation scrap to a fight for the top 4?

Hmm. A team that was in joint 12th, 2 points away from 9th, beat West Ham 4-0 and had played 4 of the top 6 already? Anyone that's not a hoofball merchant would be a start. Nor would I have given said hoofball merchant a 6m a year deal, with a 1m avoid relegation bonus.

I mean, when you lay the situation out like that, it really couldn't be much more shambolic could it? That's not even Sam's fault. It's Moshiri/the board. Disastrous decision making.

I see you've gone down the route of typing 'hoofball' in every post. Mud sticks I suppose but it's real lowest common denominator stuff.

When the hoofball stops, I promise I'll stop typing it.
