I thought Kenny was the best of the four defenders but Williams and Martina were very good as well

Kenny is the new Mr dependable isnít he

Holgates first 20 touches were awful and then he improved

Overall weíre looking more solid at the back and nowhere near as vulnerable. Canít complain with that for starters from Big Sam to get 3 points today. A draw or better in the Derby and itís a great start
You think Lou Bega knocked it out of the park with Mambo number 1?!No but he kept at it!

Love kennys balls down the line.

Just puts the ball in a good area and gets us right up the pitch. Also, he's great at defending. Hasn't been beaten one on one since he come into the team.

Nothing spectacular but we looked comfortable.

Thats the important thing for me we actually looked calm today.

Its a good base to build attacking football on later on.

Its always more assuring knowing you only have to score 1/2 to win.

Not saying we are anywhere near that level of course.

Im as much a fan of free flowing attack minded football as the next man but you have to get the basics right first.

Was impressed by Allardyce's substitutions.
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.

Probably not a popular opinion but I thought Williams and Martina were our best 2 players today

Also did 2 £5 bets

Sigurdsson first goal

Everton to win 2-0

Viva La Big Sam

So the drinks are you tonight
A new convert to the cause thanks to two mad blue grandkids

Has anyone heard of Gudni Sigurdsson?

Sam Allardyce seems to think he played better in the second half today.

Allardyce just got Sigurdsson's name wrong in the post match interview.
Cordiali saluti, motherfuckers.

Mehhh

I wasn't tbh especially the Keane one. That type of negativity will get found out soon.

Still, we won, looked a lot more assured at the back and compact in the midfield and very good going forward in the second half.

Think the Keane one was tactical because they went two up top, to give us the extra CB. Thought it was quite astute.

Not great entertainment, but we can build'
FT: Everton 2-0 Huddersfield

Everton
Everton boss Sam Allardyce, speaking to BBC Sport: "It was nice to see this stadium, looking around and seeing it full with the welcome. Then it was about the players delivering a performance and result today.

"This was probably their first back-to-back wins this season. The effort from the players in the second half, they really wanted to win it after finding it difficult in the first half, maybe with a bit of fatigue.

"The first goal settled us down. Defensively, did Huddersfield have a chance today? That gave us a platform to go and win the game.

"Our third clean sheet of the season, that's two on the trot and ironically we have two wins from it.

"It could have been better for entertainment, more passing and moving but we can build on that as we go on."

Canít argue with any of that

And fair play to Big Sam for the honesty

Was ok I suppose, still can't get my head around Allardyce as our manager though, a little bit of me died inside when the images of him chatting to Shakespeare in the stand on his mouthpiece came on, suppose i'll just have to get used to it

Lot's of positives in that game.  :)

But for the last half hour I couldn't help but sit here and think how slow we are. Then I saw the Liverpool highlights.... fuck me we're gonna get pumped.
