Young team this that did really well to get where they did, lack of experience as much as anything caught up with them. Fairly typical for the fans to suddenly turn sour rather than just appreciate that this team has done far better than expected and there's a pretty decent future for England over the next few years.

Stop moaning and just enjoy the ride you've had.

Where do you get the fans turn sour from ? They’re still in the stadium applauding the team ?

I never mentioned in the stadium, I just meant people on here having a bit of a go.

Unless a couple of players really develop in that ‘progressive’ CM role then we won’t do any better going forward.

Henderson really impressed me, and he’s good enough as the deepest of the three but we need more than Alli/Lingaard to support him.

I couldn’t help but think that in a parallel universe there would be Barkley to bring on to replace the dead on their feet Alli/Lingaard

Why do they bother with that 3rd place play off, feel sorry for everyone trying to get up for that, I bet all the Belgians and English want to do is get home now.

Who ? I don’t see any ? But to be honest I would value the opinion of anyone that went to the time/expense of travelling to the game over any armchair critic.

Think he’s right objectively.

If Eng just assume that it will be the same/ even better in four years time then it won’t be.

Should be looked at as a great run, given lack of other semis in history and recent uselessness.

But from a footballing point of view it shouldn’t be taken as a “this is it” moment.

Has anyone really thought it's a "this is it" moment though? All the excitement has come from there being no expectations, which should be remembered now. 4 years ago England didn't win a game. There's the context.

Conflicting reports from my ever-reliable Ramble podcast here. Are you sure?

Yeah, because the november in 3.5 years is 2021, not 2022.

I know... that's where my confusion comes from. Maybe I was listening to an April 1st podcast!

Best thing to come out of this World Cup is that OUR goalkeeper has established himself as the number one for the next ten years and raised the profile of our club globally !

Massive winners from this World Cup are Pickford, Tripper, Henderson and Lingard.
There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures... and the Dutch.
