Was listening to 606 and the West Ham fans that phoned in said there are no police inside the ground for any of their games - think they said there is a dispute about the financing of it. The only police they see is at the tube station.

They also said that this idiot got back into the stands, as the stewards gave up but he was dealt with by the fans.
I'm pretty sure the issue with policing at the Olympic Stadium is down to a requirement to install some electonic gadgetry to facilitate the use of Police radio inside the ground, as their radios don't work properly in there. West Ham's owners have flatly refused to pay for it, saying that it's either down to the police to get their own radios working in there or down to the landlords to stump up the cash to have the required cabling installed.
IIRC, the row is all over something like 100k for the work to be done, which is pocket change for a premier league club, especially one that has had a brand new stadium almost gifted to them for pennies.

What is with the fucking Salah wankfest. He's done the square root of fuck all in this game.

Anyone ready to start the petition for Egypt to get given the points because Salah is not fully fit and they don't deserve to go out because Salah is the Egyptian king and he suffered a potentially career threatening snapped shoelace and a nasty bruise to his shoulder when Sergio Ramos brutally attacked him in cold blood.

Just need Salah to do his fucking cruciate with no other player within 10 yards of him and tonight will finish quite nicely.

Just glad that Firmino didn't manage to score in that game. I don't think that I would have been able to cope with the sound of Danny fucking Murphy climaxing in his fucking trousers the fucking massive chode.

The whole point of being a football fan is rooting for the team that you follow to win. Whilst England are still in the competition, why not have a little belief that maybe they can go all the way. There is nobody still in the competition that deserves to be there any more or any less than England, and it is a knockout competition, so with a little slice of luck, who knows what could happen?
Winning a penalty shootout the other night would have been a massive confidence booster, and there should now be some genuine belief within the squad that there is nobody to really fear.
As an Everton fan, I'm just looking forward to seeing a goalkeeper with a senior World Cup Winners medal playing regularly at Goodison Park next season, along with a few U21 World Cup winners medal holders too!
Hopefully, Pickford comes home even better, stronger and fully focussed on adding some domestic medals to his World Cup Winners medal.

Keep the faith...

...it really is coming home!

Don't worry. Big Jordan's got this!

That's bollocks though

The vast majority of people "getting caught up in it" don't usually watch football and genuinely think this is it

I'd even say the vast majority of people going out to watch it rarely watch football at all. They're going to fume when it goes wrong. They'll then smash stuff up and everyone will blame football

Even out in Russia (and most tournaments with England) most fans don't watch football of that standard live. Look at the banners from Rochdale and Leyton Orient for fuck sake!

There might be some hipsters who crack on like it's all ironic and a joke but the majority of those watching think it's real
Do you not agree though that it would be very satisfying to have a World Cup winning keeper at Everton ?

Bobby Martinez next Spain manager....
Well he's in a very special moment at present with a group of phenomenal players who are expressing themselves with arrogance.
Seriously, he's done a bloody good job with the Belgium squad, showing just what can be done with such a talented bunch of players when you can keep them unifified and working together. With the likes of Hazard, Mertens and De Bruyne supplying the ammunition for a goal machine like Lukaku, you will always be in with a chance. The ossue with Belgium has always been getting a talented group to play together as a proper  cohesive unit. He seems to have managed that.
