If one comes available in January then great but not really top priority. Baines is back in January and Garbutt is eligible to be used as and when needed too which, when compared to Martina in that position, has to be at least as good of an option bearing in mind he actually has a left foot so offers balance and will be playing to prove he has a future.

And the club won't give him a first team chance because of the message that would send to anyone else who could be in a similar position.

What?

The club needs to show that you can't simply hang around the U23s and wait for an opportunity in the first team whilst your in you mid-20s like McAleny and joe Garbutt have done.

If we have a need and heís deemed good enough heíll get a chance. Much as the club would like to send out positive signals we have a football club to be getting on with and if Baines isnít fit and Allardyce wants to have a look at a left footer at left back heíll play, regardless of what has gone on in the past or any perceived attitude issues.

Garbutts never making it at Premier league level and certainly not at Everton

You're right, but if he doesn't get picked it's because he's not good enough not because it's to send a message out to anyone else about coasting through a career.
