Brought up watching Northwich Vics from being a baby carried in. Dad had a soft spot for Everton due to (then) the Irish connections. Ended up watching Everton as well. Sometimes afternoon at Goodison evening at Vics. Still do stuff for the 'new' Vics (1874 Northwich).
It's a totally different world but it doesn't conflict in any way. Both sides of the divide have something special that the other side can't give you. The sense of occasion, big crowd atmosphere and quality of PL on one side, the sense of really belonging and being a part of the club and meeting players etc on the other.
It makes me appreciate what we have at Everton on the one hand and frustrates me at the level of ignorance of the wider football world and what a spoilt selfish group PL fans can be on the other
