In need of firepower: Who are the Toffees' January forward options?

The January transfer window will no doubt see a number of teams at both ends of the Premier League clamouring to secure deals in the hope of bolstering their squad ahead of the second half of the season.

Be nice to think we’re not exclusively looking for players with “premiership experience”.

couple more Sandro's and we'll have a boss five-a-side team

I'd be horrified if we ended up with one of those three mentioned.

Kevin Gameiro, by the sound of it. A marked improvement on any forward we have.
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.

9 goals from 12 shots on target = 43%?

Thats a grim shortlist.  Hopefully the Gamiero links have some substance.

One (as yet) unsuccessful transfer shouldn’t mean we rule out the players who lack experience of the league though, all clubs make bad recruitments once in a while.

Inside the prem:

Batshuayi - He'd be my Ideal candidate. Got the pace we need, and could be a good loan option if Chelsea don't want to sell.

A couple I'd look at outside the Prem:

Kevin Gameiro (Athletico) - Would love him here. Pacey and Dynamic.
Babacar (Fiorentina) - Not going to set the world alight, but an absolute improvement on Niasse.
Bas Dost (Sporting) - Looks to be in the form of his life. Sporting wouldn't be able to turn down 45m.
Anthony Modeste (Tianjin Quanjian) Think he might be on loan from Koln, but would be ideal type of player
Ivan Santini(SC Caen) Big Lump, who could come good.
Cedric Bakambu (Villereal) - Long shot.

There's a lot of talent out there, I'd like to see us cast our nets a little bit further than someones bench or pay through the nose for a Troy Deeney/ Benteke type. Honestly, If someone of any real quality isn't available, go for an Enner Valencia-esque loan player as backup and stick with DCL, as he's doing a brilliant job.

I used to think Rondon would be worth a shout but he's looked poor this season.

Maybe the 43% is from total number of shots including off target.

Wants a move here doesn't he?

Loves the Blues and was having his photo taken with fans while he was warming up last season

Gamerio and Dembele please. Palace won't let Benteke leave and no thanks to the other two.

Dost has 47 goals in 46 games for Sporting. I'm in.
