No rooney is a plus IMO

The way to beat Chelsea is on the counter attack, can now play Mirallas or Lookman or Bolasie and kill Chelsea on the counter

Hopefully Keane has improved massively otherwise Hazard, Willian and Pedro will run rings around him.

I am trying to make a positive out of the situation.

Jags and Keane should be nice and fresh and raring to go and stake a claim for a first team place

The like was for your ever reliable info, not for them being injured.

Proper shit as then 3 have probably been our best players recently.

Yeah fair play to the djangerman, frequently correct.

I'll bite. Mirallas has been poor for the best part of two years, Lookman is still an impact sub at best and we'll do well to get the last 10 minutes of Bolasie given the time he's been out.

I'd sooner have Rooney than any of those three at the moment.

I’d rather me than Mirallas and I’ll be on the ale from 10

The lads who played against Swansea didn't take part in the practice match.

Anyone else find it odd that all the networks are referring to our match as El Classico? ;)

Rooney is pretty much the only player we've got to play the quality pass needed to make counter attacks effective (see the derby, for the pen)
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.

Only just seen the team news for this - FFS. Losing Holgate’s pace and ability to pass out from the back is a massive blow. Keane and Jags in then - a right pair of cloggers with no pace. Can see lots of a aimless, long passes from them two.
As for Rooney; we really don’t have anyone else with his ability to pick a pass. Sigurdsson is a very good footballer but he’s hardly the creative fulcrum we thought he would be.
Shame as I had a feeling we were actually going to come flying out at these and have a real go. The injuries mean we’ll play a lot deeper. Crying out for a fit Bolasie for these types of games; pace, strength but with the experience and discipline that Vlasic and Lookman lack.

Regardless of whether Rooney will be fit ,he couldn't play all 5 games coming up in the in next 14 days. But we really need him for Chelsea ,Man U and the derby.
We are special ,we are Everton.

People losing their mind. It's pragmatic management from Allardyce over a short intense period of games. Rest your best in a game we probably lose with all our best and concentrate on the others keeping our best players fresh.

Our manager has been around the block.
Farhad Moshiri, Alisher Usmanov, Cenk Tosun, Muhamed Besic, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Ademola Lookman, Oumar Niasse, David Henen, Barack Hussein Obama, Confucius... Everton Muslims growing stronger...
