Really hope we don't go there with the same mentality as we did in the league game. Unlikely to get away with it twice.

Looks like they will be without their two best players in Coutinho and Salah. If there's ever a time to go there and be positive, it's now. 8000 blues, Friday night, cup competition, expected to get beat and nothing to lose.

Pickford

Kenny
Holgate
Williams
Martina

Gueye
McCarthy
Rooney

Bolasie
Vlasic
Niasse.

That's what I'd go with. 4-2-3-1/ 4-5-1.

I got texted the same team. Apparently Gueye hasn't trained all week. Jagielka's the big worry for me

That's the biggest worry, Jagielka as captain and CB these days is crap.

Rooney should be leading us out in this, a proper winner - no laughing and shaking hands in the tunnel like jagielka. Player the back 4 that last played at anfield, hope Ganas fit too.

This. Jagielka was a good defender. I think he's well past his best defensively and isn't a captain in a million years. Rooney is the captain, whether he wears the armband or not.

Can't wait for this. 8000 blues, nothing to lose. I fancy us, but I fancy us most weeks.
