Until we find something else that works, it has to be Gana-Davies-Rooney in midfield.

Any time we've played anything resembling football this season, we've had those three on the pitch.

I don't know if Vlasic is actually "good" but he's one of the few players we have who brings me any joy to watch.

His strength, balance, control in tight areas, and awareness of his teammates are generally impressive.

Members of the "Irrationally Big Fans of Nikola Vlasic Club" rejoice!

(And I say that as a full-fledged member of the club.)

Edit: Just saw the bit about Bolasie. Hope he doesn't pass because Vlasic is the only joy I get from this squad.

Sad as it is, I think Vlasic is one of our smarter players in possession.

As in, he looks like he actually thinks before he tries things.

Always good when a team built by Tony Pulis is better in possession than you.

What's the deal with Baines?

Yeah, yeah, his defending has been solid, but part of the reason we're so easy to work out during build-ups is our opponent knows they don't have to bother marking Martina. At least Baines is a threat to break lines with his passing, even if he doesn't get forward like he used to.

I can't find a good reason why Davies shouldn't be in this team.

Who cares if his form hasn't been great? He moves around to create options in possession and he's not a coward like Schneiderlin or McCarthy.

How do we fix this? Gana/Rooney for Schneiderlin/McCarthy?

Why do we have a second CB on the bench instead of Davies?

Our midfield is a dumpster fire.

I think Sam thinks if you put a couple of attacking players on the pitch then goals just....happen.

It's known as the Ronald Koeman gambit.

And this is exactly the way the club is being managed w/r/t recruitment. It's why I'm such a grump all the time. It's not a viable strategy and things are never going to get better if we keep trying different versions of the same crap transfers over and over.

It's way more important to have midfielders and wingers who know how to work the ball into dangerous areas. Tosun and Walcott address none of our attacking problems, however good their respective records are.

I don't know why we're so interested in selling Niasse.

The substitute role suits him so well. There's no shame in having a player like that.

Our inability to build anything down the left still causing problems, in a development that will surprise absolutely no one.

Wish we had Alan Pardew as manager.

No you don't.

(Apologies if that was sarcasm.)
