As much as Im not a big fan of the  Allardyce appointment, Im still glad we didnt get Dyche. Hed have been on a much longer contract and wed probably have had to stick with him longer. The football Burnley is playing is turgid stuff and I cant imagine people wouldve been happy with that long term.

Ok, I was just updating the scoreline like

Definitely not a race, more like a wade through thick mud with the least shit team at the end of it somehow claiming a spot in the qualifiers

Got to be the worst bunch of teams in recent memory vying for Europa League. Everyone keeps slipping up most weeks but no-one changes places. Poor, poor league.

You have to say the fact we arent comfortably seventh (even if we were miles off 6th) is testament to how shite we have been this year. Such a let down.
I knew that someday I was going to die, and I knew that before I died, two things would happen to me. That number one; I would regret my entire life, and number two; that I would want to live my life over again.

Just had a look at last season's table and it looks like position 8th downwards are on for the same amount of points this season too, so nothing unusual. It's just that this season also sees us drop a shit load and join the rest.

Southampton were 8th and finished on 46 points. Burnley and Leicester only need 9 and 10 more points each from the last 10 games to match that.

If we were on par with last season's point performance then it looks like we'd pip Arsenal to 6th 🤦🏻‍♂️

I dont get this. We are only 7 points off Swansea, Palace and Southampton who have all showed more fight and togetherness than us lately. With Allardyce willing to throw the players under a bus with every defeat, the less motivated they will be. I am more worried about going down than even considering Europe.

The only race for Europe on Allardyce's mind is the shortest flight to an all inclusive with the best weather forecast.  He'll be on that plane by 7pm on 13th May.

Burnley last won a match on 12th Dec. They have played 11 games since and STILL remain 7th.

Says a lot for all the teams below 6th.

Off course Burnley's free fall will come to an end very soon.

If we are going to make any headway next year ( under someone knew hopefully ) then we really don't need the distraction . I also don't believe a Manager or player would really be that arsed whether we were in the Europa League or not before they joined a club ( supposedly ) on the up.

Easy to show youre on the up if youre qualifying for Europe though, rather than 11th say.

I just think its an albatross round your neck and we have enough of a mess to sort out and players coming off the back of the World Cup . We need to get a decent start in the league without the distraction of qualifying for the Europe Group stages .
