Not sure how beneficial they are. The season will still have the same amount of games and finish about the same time so the teams will end up with more midweek games as a result

Ahhhhh the winter break

Soon to be filled by the new Club World Cup....

I'm sure the top teams will be bleating on about fixture congestion and player fatigue, or not, as a couple of billion get dumped in their bank accounts

It's a nonsense. Just like saying players are tired after the summer when the clubs are touring the US or Australia or wherever. The single reason clubs would be in favour of breaks like this is so they can fill the time with more lucrative endeavours.
