The stuff Kramer is into is typically really weak for rating CB’s. Hard to get a metric for denying an action through sheer presence.
A great deal of being a good CB is being in the right position, body shape, proximity etc. to deny a player from making, receiving or even considering an action.
Saw an analysis of Van Dijk when he was at Southampton where they showed almost like an arc of space that showed how simply playing him in that LCB spot had reduced shots and passes in front of his part of the box, and shifted it towards the right side where typically players will be on their weak side.
The stuff old Kramer is into is all hard metrics, great for build up, passing, shots, shot location and quality of finish - all hard numbers based on actions.
