Seen this posted in a few places.. always thought he was decent apart from his injury record but just looked at his goal stats and I think its best to swerve!

EVERTON INTERESTED IN WELBECK

Everton are interested in signing Danny Welbeck from Arsenal, according to The Times.

The striker has less than a year to go on his current deal, and has been pushed down the pecking order at the Emirates after the arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

Whilst I agree with that, one year left on his contract would mean he'd be a reasonable fee, good competition for Tosun and can play out wide as well as through the middle.  Not the worst target if we are looking for backup to Tosun... if he'd come as that and on what wages too are the main issues though.

Dream move him this would be. Back up to the north west, best club for the level he's at and chance to stay at a decent level. When fit he's a decent option and probably available at a knockdown price with just a year left.

Having said that I think it's bollocks.

Id take him if the fee was right, still think we'll struggle for goals unless we strengthen our attacking options

I'd hate for somebody like Welbeck to come in and knock DCL down the pecking order

He would be an OK signing but would expect a bigger role than i think we should give him

It was bad enough signing Man U rejects when they were actually good. Signing Arsenal rejects now they are shit is worse.

He's barely a 1 in 5 player, how he's managed to fool people this long that he's of the level of Arsenal and Man Utd is baffling. And on top of that he seems partial to a nice injury lay off. Never seen the attraction in him.

Agreed. Welbeck's goal scoring record is abysmal too, but DCL is still developing and could yet add goals to his game.

CF isn't a position we should be worrying about until a few others are sorted.
