I was very disappointed with Dowell in the cup game. Yes, he looks class and cultured on the ball but too often he drifted and the game just flew past him. I'm not sure he can cope with a pressing game. He seemed reluctant or unable to do the work required, which is strange considering he did so well at Forest for a large part of last season in the super-competitive Championship. But everyone says the speed of the Premier is another level and that seems to his achilles heal.

I hope I'm wrong and he can grow into one of those players who makes his own time and space. At the moment, he seems an easy target to subdue in our midfield.
Being Irish, he had an abiding sense of tragedy, which sustained him through temporary periods of joy.

He’s good, but he’s not good enough to make up for his lack of pace, stamina and strength.

I'd rather he was rested, the way he was feeling his groin (not like that!) on Sunday.

Pickford off at the break in a planned substitution. Alex McCarthy gets his first cap.

Keane got done by Pulisic right before England's first, but it's not like he's the only CB that's ever happened to. (As an aside, Pulisic would look amazing on our right flank.) The shot was right into Pickford, a decent save in the end as he came out to meet it.

Anyone who didn't see Richarlison for Brazil. He had 25 minutes, missed a fairly decent/easy chance, but made a big difference to their pace and seemed to improve their attacking options for the time he was on. Any money we've spent on messing about with managers will be covered by the money we make when Richarlison moves on. I should imagine any extras in his transfer fee will be activated, as he's an absolute bargain at 50 mill. Once again, you can rely on the opposite of what Paul Merson spews out. Silvas' probably covered his wages already. "He's a much better player than I thought".

I'd settle for an England win, Vlasic to score, Lovren to fuck up and get injured.

Wish they would stop saying the former Everton player and surplus  comments  about Vlasic

Vlasic starts for Croatia no 10 position.

Always said he’d be better in the 10 or 8, playing him as a winger never suited his attributes.

On another note, Tyler has already got in his Everton dig by saying that Barkley is a vastly improved player than the one that played at Wembley three years ago. Prick.
