Assuming this means Gueye stays:

BREAKING NEWS

PSG close to completing deal to sign Chelsea target Leandro Paredes from Zenit St Petersburg.

Paredes due to have medical today.

Chelsea were in talks to sign Paredes as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas, but they were not willing to pay £40m for a player who would not be an automatic first-choice starter.

I knew that someday I was going to die, and I knew that before I died, two things would happen to me. That number one; I would regret my entire life, and number two; that I would want to live my life over again.

Because we could do with him?

Having never seen him play...

would worry that having moved to Monaco as a step up he’s not attracting more attention (although admittedly he’d then be beyond us...).

Actually would not be a bad example of the limbo we’re in.

Can’t really buy complete punts that often as we’ve decent players who provide a reasonable barrier to new players to dislodge.

But then promising players with decent track record are likely to aim higher.

But we're not in for him are we, we're not in for anyone in this window, Brands and Silva have both said we won't be bringing anyone in. Annoys me when other clubs get linked with players, people always say we should be in for him.

Closer to a pienaar or arteta signing. Big reputation, struggled with a step up (into a chaotic side).

Imo similar risk to Mina and Gomes but with a bigger need for our side and a bigger upside for sell-on (attacking player).

Agreed, but it’s a shame that we’re not.

Massively hyped a few years ago and went to Monaco for £20m, not quite stepped up but still great years ahead of him and presumably willing to ‘step down’ to a non-CL club for game time

Tielemans can strike the ball as well as Sigurdsson but plays deeper and passes well. At age 21, I don't care what his form's been like. I'm buying his talent for a midfield three.

I'm kind of hoping he stays at Monaco until the summer when we might be able to free up some money to chase him.

Then again, he's a hard one to fit in the team while Sigurdsson's around and there's no way we'll be able to get rid of Sigurdsson.

We're not getting a midfielder until Scheniderlin fucks off.

We need a pretty big clearout, I expect that will wait until the summer...and boy do we need some striking options.
